Overview:

Providessocial work services for patients and families to enhance theirpsychosocial functioning. Performs duties and responsibilities in amanner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy ServiceStandards.

Qualifications:

• Education:Master's in Social Work, Required, or has satisfactorily completedall requirements for the MSW but awaiting conferment by theeducational facility, for all Social Worker IIs hired after12/25/2011.(Social Worker IIs hired before December 2011 metprevious job description educationrequirements.)
• Licensure:Current license in Social Work in the state of employment (LMSW,LCSW)
• Experience:0-2 years experience in acute care hospitalsetting
• Other Skills &Knowledge:
  • Strong verbal andwritten communication and facilitationskills.
  • Strong assessment skills, timemanagement skills, critical thinkingskills.
  • Advanced computerskills.
  • The assessment, care and treatmentprovided by Social Worker II will be consistent with the specificage-related needs of the patient. Is competent to care for patientage groups including neonatal/infant, child, adolescent, adult andgeriatric adult patients.
  • Skills and knowledgeof human behavior and clinical aspects of medical SocialWork.
  • Ability to interact effectively with avariety of people and situations at all levels of theorganization.
  • Valid Drivers license and currentMotor VehicleRegistration
